The U Bench has been finely crafted using beautiful Nelson grown Elm, paying homage to the Nelson region where Amelia spent the last year living, connecting, and creating.I
The U Bench takes shape through an organic sculptural U form which is framed by structured linear elements and punctuated with finely crafted details. The resulting furniture pieces are solid yet dynamic. They elicit a sense of playfulness and tactility.
Drawing on the concept of 'building blocks', Amelia's pieces have multiple configurations available and invite the owner to experiment, where the U form can sit at an angle or parallel to the top structure. She imagines the possibility of the pieces evolving over time, where the sculptural form could be swapped out for another commissioned form in the future.
Details: Nelson grown elm wood - finished with a natural blend of plant oils and wax
